On Wednesday July 12 2023 we received the very sad news that one of our students, Ruben Biskupec, had passed away a day earlier.

On behalf of the students, professors and study association GEWIS from the department of Mathematics & Computer Science of the TU/e, we wish strength to all who knew Ruben Biskupec. Our thoughts are with Ruben’s family and friends at this most sad and difficult time. With this online condolence register we offer the opportunity to leave a personal message and to share stories about Ruben’s life in Eindhoven.

We have come to know Ruben as an active and friendly first year master student in the IST master program. He was new at TU/e this year, having completed his Bachelor in Italy at the Universita Degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia. He had been planning to take a semester in Switzerland within the Erasmus exchange program next year.

His teachers remember Ruben as ‘a very promising student with his own ideas, taking initiatives to make the best out of his study time’ and as ‘a bright young man, eloquent, with a clear view of the scientific path ahead of him.’

It's very sad to know he's no longer with us and will not be able to follow that path. We hope family, friends and loved ones can find some support amongst each other.
