Ome Jan, again please accept my deepest condolences on your loss of Tante Francien. I too share the same sentiments as expressed by my brother (Stephen of Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada-below) as I too did not have the opportunity to grow up with Tante Francien other than to visit with her when either you came over here or we came over there, however she was always kind hearted and treated me well and my time with her and Oma comes to mind when they travelled to Florida and I joined them in Florida and we went to Disney world primarily Epcot and we all had a good time together. I also remember going to Niagara Falls with you both as a young girl and we all were dressed in black raincoats when we took the cave tour below the Falls nevermind our camping with you both and playing horseshoes with Uncle Matt and Tante Francien assisting my Mom with cooking for a hungry family from our trailer. Those were the good times that you need to remember right now at this time of your loss as you know that trip was special and resulted in a very special relationship that was born as a result and one you still have now , Ilse. May you find comfort in both of your children and grand children now and know that our thoughts and prayers go out to all of your family at this time.

"Soms is een woord teveel en duizend te weinig"
Heel veel sterkte met het verlies van Francien, we zagen elkaar alleen bij AH, dus bij het boodschappen doen, en maakten dan vaak even een praatje.
Een heel positief en aardig mens die altijd zei dat het goed ging.

I was not fortunate to spend a lot of time with Tante Francien. I grew up on the other side of the ocean. The memories I do have are pleasant ones! I will always remember her smile and hearty laugh. She was always so kind to me. The times we spent together, I could always see how much she loved her family. Ome Jan, please accept my condolences. I've always thought that the two of you were two pieces in a puzzle...a perfect and complete fit. I cannot imagine your sense of loss. You are in my thoughts. Ilse and Johan also. Catherine, Christine, Andrew and I pray for all of you and send our love.
