      Donna touched us all with her warm heart, bright smile and beautiful personality.

      What will we remember most about Donna?  Her humor , her kindness and sincerity and her general belief that everyone is good and means well. 

      She had a great love for music, playing drums and coloring. She had about a 100 coloring books.

      She really enjoyed food, but was not really partial to vegetables although she did take a liking to asperges recently.

      She also liked doing crochet, she started on scarves for a colleague’s daughters in 2017 but never finished them as Donna always wanted everything to be perfect and thought that what she created was never good enough.

      Her drive was something everyone admired. She moved from California to The Netherlands on her own and mastered the Dutch language in no time without following one course

      Donna’s death was sudden, but her life was not faint. Her memory will always be with us.

      We will all miss our friend dearly and are grateful for having known her.

        To Donna's mother and family:
        Donna was one of the first colleagues I worked with when I started at Elsevier in the late 90's. We worked together for many years. Wonderful years with beautiful memories and countless conversations. Conversations about her hobbies, her ambitions, her family and trips to see you all in San Francisco. She was also always interested about my family and my girls growing up. Next to her job Donna was always so interested in people and in art (drawing, painting, music, etc.). Fifteen years ago she made these two beautiful drawings for my daughters, at the time 5 and 7 years old. They were delighted!

        I wish you strength in these difficult moments.

        Dear family,
        I’m so sorry to hear this sad news. Donna was a very nice colleague and always showed interest in me and my family. Few weeks ago she told me about her upcoming retirement. Please accept my sincere condolences.

        I came to Elsevier in 2018 and Donna showed me around the 22nd floor and we ended up with cleaning the stationery room together and giggling. She was full of live, had so many talents and had a lot of interests like; music, singing, drawing, coloring knitting and crocheting. I will miss her beautiful soul so much, we used to go home together with the same train and we would chat and made all passengers mad at us because we laughed so hard. She was a special person, wise, full of energy and had good spirits. My deepest condolences for the whole family of Donna, she always talked about her beloved mother and her big family back home. Rest in Peace my friend....xxx

        Dear family - mother sister, aunt and niece - it has been much fun working with Donna. She had an opinion about everything, and she would tell you so jokingly and ....with a beat! She made me listen to Snarky Puppy songs and watch her YouTube performances. We will much miss her vibrant presence in the office, attentive to everyone of us. I hope she will find peace in a colourful universe filled with music, laughter and soulmates.

        So sad to hear of the news that Donna has suddenly left us. She was a real character on our floor and will be missed by many friends and colleagues here at Elsevier. She often shared stories with me in the train on our way home, either about music or showing me the results of her brilliant talent at coloring in a way that amazed me every time!. So colorful and bright, just like her personality. I wish Donna's mother and family strength at this very sad time.

        Dear family,
        We are all very shocked and saddened by the news of Donsa's passing. Donna was a well known and liked person in Elsevier. She was one of the most patient person I knew always with a smile on her face. Her presence will be missed and her laugh will remain in our hearts. I raise a glass for her tonight and hope she is drumming her way through the universe around us all.
