TRIBUTE TO EZRI HARMUSIAL.
By Engr. Ezekwesiri Enyinnaya Obioha - ICT (Ezehk; Ezri's Twinsoul)
HOW I MET EZRI;
It was a cool evening on a street in Leerdam, a bright&satisfied-looking cheerful young man passed me. We made eye contact and greeted each other without introductions.
Few days later, we met again.
He introduced himself as Ezri and I introduced myself as Ezehk.
From that moment, Ezri became very good friends supporting my IT works.
EZRI AS THE SECRETARY STICHTING ARTKIDS FOUNDATION.
For the fact that we had worked with Ezri for almost one year then, while focusing on the positive sides of Ezri, we noticed that Ezri had improved on IT works and creative writing (Dutch/English). I then recommended Ezri to ArtKids Foundation Board of Directors as Secretary and member of trustees of Stichting Artkids Foundation ~ www.artkidsfoundation.org:
Ezri was also crowned as ArtKids International enjoy to Africa~ his choicest part of the Earth
In 2015, I relocated back to Igboland (Eastern Nigeria) leaving Ezri and Bas in The Netherland. We continued our works for Artkids foundation while bridging the gap with technology.
10 years quickly passed with our friendship and business partnership operational and solidified by our collective focus on helping Africans free themselves.
Back here in Igboland, the people of Owerre-Nkwo-Ọjị community in Imo state decided to implement some abandoned projects in their community. Major among these projects is the abandoned community stream called OHIA stream.
Through me, the king of Owerre-Nkwo-Ọjị community HRH. Boniface Unogu consulted ArtKids Foundation for assistance.
When ArtKids Foundation Holland agreed to help the people of Owerre-Nkwo-Ọjị restore Ohia stream, Ezri was deployed to Africa to supervise the restoration of Ohia Stream, DiscoverMe project and ICT training of Igbo youths.
After obtaining his Vsa, Ezri departed Holland and arrived Igboland on the 31st of March 2024. I picked Ezri from Port Harcourt International Airport in Nigeria and took him to my village where I live.
Before his arrival, I had prepared a room for Ezri in my house. Ezri came and felt at home in Owerre-Nkwo-Ọji Community.
The people of Owerre-Nkwo-Ọjị, especially the youths love Ezri and his friendly attitudes.
Without wasting time, on the 13th of April 2024, the king and the people of Owerre-Nkwọ-Ọji launched Ohia Stream Restoration project with Ezri Harmusial as the representative of ArtKids Foundation and special guest of honour. The event was very successful.
Through this ancient Stream Restoration Project launch, Ezri became very popular in Owerre-Nkwo-Ọji. A hero.
Ezri ate various Igbo foods, drank our natural palmwine and confessed liking them. it was as if Ezri had lived here all his life.
Before his departure to Igboland, I encouraged Ezri to register his own ICT company in the Netherlands which he did. Ezri called his company "EZ ICT Solutions" ~ an Information and Communication Technology Service provision company that focuses on Africa's emerging technology markets. While in Igboland, I teamed up with Ezri and had EZ-ICT Solutions professionally setup ~ www.ez-ict.nl.
EXRI BECAME ONE IF THE DIRECTORS OF ADA AFRICA
Early September 2024, before his demise, Ezri was appointed the Director of Information Technology by African Diaspora Association -ADA.
EZRI"S SUDDEN DEPARTURE:
Ezri had lived happily with us in Igboland until his sudden demise.
In September 2024, I went to represent EZ-ICT Solutions Holland in Owerri, Imo State in Nigeria where we were pursuing a government contract. Before my departure, Ezri had a mild cold that is often a symptom of fever . He was taking his medicine for that when I left for owerri. While in Owerri, I received a text message from Ezri who complained of being down.
I called him and noticed that he sounded very down indeed,
I then cancelled my appointment off and headed back to our location.
I saw Ezri looking very weak and depressed, realising there was not much I could do, I rushed Ezri to the Hospital.
Ezri's health deteriorated very fast with unconsciousness (coma) as a result. Ezri could no more speak or recognise me as he breathed heavily. Oxygen and other medications were given to him; yet, Ezri wasn't responding to treatments.
After two nights in that Hospital, we were referred to another hospital. With an ambulance, we moved Ezri to the second hospital were he passed away. Truly painful.
Ezri Harmusial was laid to rest here in Igboland on the 9th of October 2024. Farewell Ez. I/we truly love you.
To me, Ezri Harmusial still lives.
Yes, Ezri will remain alive in mine and the memories of Owerre-Nkwo-Ọjị people and youths whom Ezri came to and was assisting till his demise.
our heartfelt condolences go to his bereaved family.
Please take heart.
