Het was een grote schok voor mij om de overlijdensadvertentie voor Cees in de krant te zien gisteravond. Mijn gedachten gingen terug naar onze intensieve samenwerking in Brunei LNG in de 80er jaren. Waar we in het project- en design office van BLNG zoveel geweldige dingen samen gedaan hebben.
Jammergenoeg zijn we elkaar daarna uit het oog verloren, maar de herrinering aan een fijne persoon en een kundige engineer is altijd gebleven.. Heel veel sterkte gewenst met het verwerken van dit verlies,

So sorry to hear about Cees, please accept my condolences to the family, Gerda, Chantal, Mark and friends of Cees.

Since the first meet in the beginning of January 2000, I was benefitted from him, as a passionate valve expert, strict but kind, direct, honest, fair but motivated. I still remembered his first audit to our factory (Neway), the conclusion was made in half an hour, but he still took his precious time to finish the whole audit procedure, gave all his findings to us. This helped the factory and me learn a lot and improved a lot.

Thanks a lot to him, like a teacher to make me knowledgeable on industrial valve, especially on low fugitive emission. I believe he is together with us all the time.

Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and condolences go to Cees and his adoring loving family, Gerda, Chantal and Marc.
A lovely, descent, kind and generous man. Dear friend and work companion with whom I was so privileged to know and enjoyed so many good times. The ultimate gentleman.
Cees personified all that we treasure, value and to which few men can aspire to, integrity, honesty and respect for all. An authentic, genuine and devoted loving father.
Dear Cees, friend, thank you for everything. In your living you inspired us all and you shared yourself with all. You have our deepest respect. In your passing we will always remember you. We will remember what you thought us, to enjoy each day, especially with our precious families. You will not be forgotten. How could we, I, we share the same birthday.

Thank you for using the photo which I took during the Valve World Steering Committee Meeting on 7 June 2007 at the garden of the Hilton Schiphol Hotel. I remember it was very pleasant warm day. When I hold the camera, he smiled shyly and looked at the camera. He was the chairman of the conference and worked very hard. I enjoyed very much working with him and I learned a lot from him. He was a very kind and warm-hearted gentleman.

Thank you Cees. We will think of you at every Valve World conference.
